Following Workday™ go-live, a major Australian airline needed a partner to take ownership of integration managed services and scale Workday™ safely as the organisation evolved. Mivada built a delivery model that enabled continuous integration growth, improved adoption, and expanded capability across compliance, automation, digital, and analytics.
The Challenge
Post go-live, the airline required stable and scalable Workday integration managed services to support continuous change in a complex enterprise environment. They needed to expand integrations quickly and safely, guide adoption of new Workday functionality, and streamline learning and compliance workflows—while improving enterprise insight through stronger data foundations and reporting.
The Mivada Approach
Mivada embedded alongside internal teams and established a repeatable delivery model that balanced speed, governance, and reliability. We supported hypercare and then moved into a steady-state rhythm of continuous delivery—building, testing, releasing, and supporting integrations in a way that could scale as business requirements expanded.
As the partnership matured, we broadened the program to increase value from Workday and adjacent platforms. We automated learning and compliance workflows (including SharePoint + Workday processes), simplified certification expiry management and course enrolment, and implemented equivalency logic so compliance could be recognised through alternative training pathways. We supported Workday Extend applications already in production and collaborated on the next wave of Extend app design and build.
Beyond Workday, we modernised integration patterns through middleware and APIs, supported application modernisation using cloud-native foundations (including AWS), and strengthened data and analytics capability through ingestion frameworks and ETL/ELT pipelines (including platforms such as Teradata). We delivered KPI-aligned dashboards across Power BI, Tableau, and Qlik, and helped scale automation through an Automation CoE approach and delivery across Blue Prism and Power Automate. When workforce requirements shifted rapidly (including during COVID-era changes), we delivered certificate-authenticated compliance solutions and automated communication workflows while maintaining governance controls.
The Outcome
Workday at enterprise scale
Workday integrations expanded from ~50+ at go-live to 290+, establishing a sustainable cadence for ongoing delivery. Mivada enabled the client to add new integrations continuously while maintaining reliability and governance.
Simplified compliance and workforce readiness
Manual effort reduced through automation of learning, certification, and compliance workflows, including improved enrolment processes, certification expiry management, and equivalency logic to recognise compliance through alternative training pathways. The result was stronger workforce readiness with less administrative overhead.
A connected, insight-led ecosystem
The environment was strengthened beyond Workday through modern API and middleware patterns, cloud-native foundations (including AWS) to improve scalability and resilience, and improved data capability via ETL/ELT pipelines and KPI-aligned dashboards across Power BI, Tableau, and Qlik—accelerating decision-making and operational insight.
The Long-term Impact
The airline now has a Workday ecosystem and operating model that supports continuous, governed change, enabling faster delivery of new capability while reducing operational risk. The long-term impact is sustained value from Workday, improved workforce compliance and readiness outcomes, and enterprise systems that can scale as the business evolves.
