The Challenge

The airline’s payroll environment had been in place since the early 1990s and supported a large, complex workforce with stringent regulatory obligations. Over time, the platform was being asked to deliver modern compliance outcomes, richer reporting, and higher operational throughput—while still running reliably every day.

The business needed more than “keep the lights on” support. They needed a partner who could protect payroll continuity, deliver statutory change at pace, and steadily strengthen reliability and audit readiness behind the scenes.

The Mivada Approach

Mivada implemented a continuity-first AMS model that combined 24/7 operational coverage with proactive improvement. Our team supported critical payroll processing cycles end-to-end, focusing on operational resilience, disciplined change control, and rapid root-cause resolution to prevent recurring issues.

To reduce manual handling and improve repeatability, we introduced targeted automation and scripting using PowerShell and Python for data translation, validation, and integration workflows. We supported the surrounding technology ecosystem that keeps payroll dependable at enterprise scale, including database services (Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL), operational reporting through QlikView, and batch scheduling/orchestration via Opswise/UAC. Reliability and governance were reinforced through structured ITSM practices using ServiceNow and Zendesk, alongside audit preparation and documentation discipline.

The Outcome

Mivada became an extension of the payroll function, delivering 24/7 AMS support across daily operations and major compliance cycles. The environment remained stable through significant legislative and reporting change, including ATO Single Touch Payroll (STP1 and STP2) uplift, while operational processes became more automated, repeatable, and auditable.

The Long-term Impact

The airline has maintained zero critical outages for over a decade, supported by an adaptive AMS model built for ongoing regulatory change and operational variability. The long-term impact is sustained payroll trust, improved audit readiness, and a stronger foundation for continuous improvement without disrupting pay outcomes.
